TESTIMONIALS
“I signed my two boys up for the beginner program, and they had a great time. They learned a lot of helpful kitchen and cooking skills and, as a bonus, were educated about the Farmer's Market and The Food Bank through a field trip. The ladies were helpful and communicated what the boys were doing daily with me.
I will definitely sign my boys up again. Thanks for the great experience, ladies!”
Clint (Kids in the Kitchen- Level 1)
“Our boys took part in the first ever kids cooking camps at The Local Kitchen this summer. It was fantastic! The kids spent about half an hour each morning learning about nutrition and food science before proceeding to the kitchen to prepare the days menu. Not only did the boys learn to make some delicious dishes, but they gained important kitchen/cooking skills along the way. The instructors were warm and welcoming and the boys were excited to go each day. I feel this camp gave them the tools to take a more active role in the family's meal preparation as well as inspire creativity in the kitchen. We would definitely sign up for another camp in the future!”
Nadia (Kids in the Kitchen- Level 2)
“The Kids Cooking Camp was more than I could have imagined! It was well planned, interactive, perfectly paced, and kept my little one engaged every minute of the week long adventure. She came home with a new sense of confidence in the kitchen, a thirst for more culinary skills, and the ability to create some amazing dishes for our family to enjoy. Thanks for a great five days, The Local Kitchen, we will definitely be returning next year :)"

TLK COVID and Cancelation Protocols
As moms ourselves, we expect those who spend time with our children to put their health and safety as a first priority. This expectation lead to extensive discussions in 2020 with our Youth Instructors to build comprehensive COVID protocols for our summer camps in order to protect our participants, staff and members. We have been proactive in working with Public Health officials to assess the space and advise on our processes. We will continue to listen carefully to medical professionals' advice and adapt if necessary.
But we are excited to say that we are ready to once again to safely offer an environment of fun and learning to the young chefs in our kitchen community!
Tickets to our camps are non-refundable or transferable. If your camper is not able to attend camp due to illness we have virtual packages we are able to provide for a distanced cooking experience. Alternatively, you are welcome to sell the spot and send another camper, who meets the age requirements, for that camp week.
